About the Authors

    Charles Mannila, CCP is an accomplished business executive,
    consultant, trainer, speaker, and published writer on employment issues
    with graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Florida
    International University along with several professional human resources
    designations. He has over 25 years of hands-on experience coaching and
    advising large employers and small businesses on employment, human
    resources, executive compensation, employee benefits, and workplace
    safety issues.

As a senior corporate executive with several multinational employers he has hired, fired, downsized,
reorganized, and laid-off employees and learned firsthand what employers could legally get away
with.  As a consultant he has developed business strategies and coached employers on  workforce
management issues and preventing employee lawsuits. As a trainer, he has provided thousands of
people with employability and work skills training to help find a great job and stay employed.

Mr. Mannila also has extensive media and public speaking experience with local and national radio
talk shows and professional associations on business and employment issues. Previous published
writings include “Steering Clear of Court” and “How to Avoid Becoming a Workplace Violence
Statistic”.  

Charles has written this book to help level the employment playing field for job seekers and workers
so they can build their own employment fortress in today’s difficult job market.
